NEW Tensei 1K Pro Blue Vs. White & Orange - Shaft Comparison

Adding to the 1K Pro lineup — which currently includes 1K Pro White and 1K Pro Orange. Ian tests the new 1K Pro Blue with his current gamer head.

Chapter 1: PRESENTS TENSEI 1K SHAFTS REVIEW FEATURING 1K Pro Orange, 1K Pro White & 1K Pro Blue

0:00 Okay guys, welcome back to the channel.

0:02 The never ending testing season continues. Um, we just keep getting good product through the door. What else am I supposed to say?

0:10 I know it's hard not to build it up and test it.

0:12 Why wouldn't you tinker with it?

0:14 So, as you guys saw in my what's in the bag few weeks ago, uh, the shaft I use in the woods, the the top end of the

0:22 bag, predominantly Mitsubishi, Tensy, uh, Pro White, Pro Orange last week. Uh Mitsubishi extended that

0:30 line with the new uh Tensei 1K Blue Y Pro Blue.

0:35 Um a shaft that was really popular um on the European tour specifically actually in the the AV version of it previously.

0:44 Uh obviously with the 1K really super premium high modulus materials that they've been using in the 1K orange and

0:51 the 1K Pro White. uh extending that into a slightly softer tip and midsection, but very firm handle section in the blue. Mikey, quite an interesting shaft.

1:01 Um profile-wise, designed to launch and spin a fraction higher. Uh but yield actually a higher ball speed.

1:09 Yeah, not often you hear that from uh from manufacturers claiming that there's a a ball speed story uh when it comes to shaft design, but generally you do hear

1:17 it from shafts with a much stiffer butt section. when the activity happens around about the tip section, we tend to get more acceleration of the the club

1:25 head itself, which ultimately is what leads to the higher ball speed. So, something I'm interested today to see if we get that. Um, I've went back to

1:33 stealth 2 plus y um seen some really, really good numbers from that. But I'll never turn my nose

1:41 up at a a little bit of ball speed, Michael.

1:43 No. No. And you're playing all 50 X's in this product here, the white, the orange, and the blue. This will be this will be a good test.

1:48 Yeah. And it's important to note, guys, when we talk about 50X or 60S, which is what you're playing, some these don't always have to conform

1:56 to being a 50 g shaft. So, um, Pro White and 50X is 59 g. Yeah.

2:03 Uh, Pro Orange and 50X is 58 g. Pro Blue and 50X is 55 g. Very different.

2:11 Different torque ratings. Uh, all kind of above 4°. A little bit on the higher side. That's why they feel great. Um, balance point obviously highest in the

2:19 orange. Uh, actually found the the blue to be quite counterbalanced as well because the stiff butt section. Higher than white for sure.

2:26 Definitely higher than white. Um, so I did see my swing weight come down a little bit on that which I actually quite liked.

2:32 So, um, yeah, I'll be I'll be interested to see what we get out this today. Um, one other thing to note for for people

2:39 who are very sensitive to grip size, one of the ways manufacturers get the the butt section or any section of the shaft

2:46 is to play with the taper rate. This is a slower taper rate on the blue, which basically means the the butt section is

2:53 a little bit larger. I want to say 634 is is what the the 50X is. Equivalent of about two wraps of tape extra.

3:02 Yeah. So, if you use two wraps of tape and you've got that, you're using four.

3:06 Yeah. Yeah. That's a That's a big difference. That's a big butt. Just up your street. Yeah.

3:13 Just up your street. All right. I've built up the uh the some 3-woods and some drivers. We're just going to focus on the driver testing today. We'll maybe do the fairway testing at another time.

3:23 Um but looking forward to trying these. Expecting some good stuff.

3:27 Okay. Fries Gamer. Y Stealth 2 Plus Tenc. Yep. What's the setting you have that in? Uh, open.

Chapter 2: TENSEI 1K Pro Orange 50X STEALTH 2+

3:36 We open one and a half. Okay.

3:40 So, loft down 75 45 in 45 and a half. Okay.

3:50 So, sounded good. Yeah. Like a fairly normal one there. What was that for launch and spin?

3:57 Launch 119 1900 spin.

4:00 Okay. We the low side. Yeah, interesting. Ball speed 50 with six. Yeah.

4:08 Okay. I mean, I throw it out there maybe as an excuse.

4:12 We are using a range ball today. Tend to give away two or three miles an hour.

4:16 Yeah. Hopefully change that spin. Yeah. Again, felt similar.

4:25 Yeah. 11 launch, 26 spin. Little spinny.

4:27 Little spinny. Maybe a lower 96 peak height though. Better. Okay. Quite comfortable with those numbers. Yeah. Quite like that flight.

4:36 Quite straight. Pretty straight. Yeah. Little low in the head.

4:43 Yep. Yeah. Peak height's down again.

4:45 Okay. So, we're seeing that a little bit with orange. Yeah.

4:49 Now, those are low strikes. We're going to see lower launch low strikes.

4:53 But that's where I'm interested to see if the blue kicks up a little bit more.

5:02 That was better. Launched down a bit. Spins in a good window. 2200.

5:07 I find this a very consistent driver. I didn't hit that very good. Yeah. Yeah.

5:11 Caught that probably a little bit low heel what it felt like. And like it had a great flight to it. Really pleased with that. Twist face.

5:18 Twist face baby. Bit more of the high knuckly flight.

5:27 Yeah. What was that?

5:28 Ball speeds up one 160 107 club 13 launch 21 spin. What was the carry?

5:35 282 305 total. I mean pretty good and 100 ft in the air.

5:39 Okay. So those let's keep those numbers as screenshot gamer numbers. Okay.

Chapter 3: TENSEI 1K Pro White 50X STEALTH 2+

5:47 Okay. For us 10C white again 50x 45 and a half. Yeah. Same same build.

5:52 Yeah. I mean, obviously, we know blue is going to be a higher launching shaft, ideally, we think, designed to be.

5:59 Um, this is white's a little higher than orange as well, but again, I've always found white to be stout, low,

6:07 just low in general. So, I think it's different for everyone, but interesting to see what this does compared to orange.

6:12 Definitely. Definitely. Yeah. I mean, different shafts in that the orange with the tungsten powder in the butt section to raise the balance point. So, uh,

6:21 generally does, you know, play a little bit on the stiffer side. The the orange, I like it. It still feels stable. It's one of the reasons I like the 50X with

6:29 the higher torque. Yeah. Plays plays good. But I also really like the whites.

6:33 It's really tough for me to choose between these two. Yeah. Let's see it.

6:42 That's a nice flight. 14 launch, 1,800 spin. Oh, was that in there?

6:50 284 carry, 305 total. It's pretty good. And there's that 96 ft in the air.

6:55 Yeah, I didn't I didn't feel like I could have swung very quick in that one. That's good. It's a nice flight.

7:05 Again, little squirty one, but yeah, I didn't quite kind of time up the speed on it, Mikey, but it's kind of got

7:12 a like a It's got a high launch, low spinner to this one. Yeah, that speed came down. Launch was up. Spin was a little high. What was that one?

7:20 25. Okay. 116 peak height though. Sounded better.

7:29 Better. Yeah.

7:31 Yeah. There's the 157 13 launch 1800 spin. 280 odd again.

7:39 284 carry. Yeah.

7:43 Right out of the gates though. That peak height with white is higher for sure than orange.

7:53 Wee bit towy.

7:56 Not going to hurt you. 13 launch, 21 spin, 280 carry.

7:59 Okay, so a little bit better with white interestingly.

8:02 Yeah, seemed like a bit more consistent. Okay, for us 10C blue 1k. Mhm. 1k family is finally done.

Chapter 4: TENSEI 1K Pro Blue 50X STEALTH 2+

8:10 Yeah, I mean instantly you can feel the reduction in weight. You really can feel that mass come down a little bit. Um, feels nice. Feels feels good.

8:19 I hit a couple. It feels super smooth. That's That's what I like about it. Smooth as a Nappa cab. Yeah. You You'd know about a few Napa cabs.

8:28 Well done.

8:33 Stuck behind that one a little bit, Mikey. But yeah, doesn't hurt you though. I mean, carry obviously down, but spins up as well.

8:40 What was that one? 259 137 launch 2500. Okay. 270 carry.

8:48 Peak heights to the moon though. Is it is that 125?

8:51 No 107 but much higher than what we've had. Spinning Mikey.

8:58 Yeah. 29 116 wouldn't hurt you on the golf course. No.

9:04 Sunday morning first T-shot. Yeah, definitely considerably when you hit the three of them side by side like you can feel this one has more more play in it.

9:14 More play in it.

9:15 Might be interested at the TX actually in this guy. I can get you one. Do you know a guy? I know a guy.

9:25 It's a nice flight again. Yeah, that that was better for sure.

9:28 Yeah, there you go. 158 ball, 129 launch, 22 spin, 104 in the air. Back to your 282 carry.

9:36 That was perfect. Yeah, looked very stable.

9:39 Yeah, that was much better. How was that?

9:46 Another one. 123 launch, 23 spin.

9:50 160 ball, 100 ft in the air. It's really good, man. I think I just had to acclimatize a little bit to blue. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, it was a change.

9:58 It is softer for sure.

9:59 Definitely. Definitely. But I It kicks a bit more. That's why that's why I'm I'm timing. So, I think the stiffer handle, like they talked about, a little bit more play down here.

10:08 Yeah, I'm I'm feeling it.

10:14 That one came out a bit flatter, did it?

10:16 121 launch, 2,000 spin, 87 ft in the air. So, definitely your I don't mind a lower flight.

10:23 Yeah. No, definitely your lowest one with this.

10:25 Okay. Well, let's have a look at the averages.

10:28 All right, guys. So, nice little session with uh each of the Tens 1K Pro products.

10:34 Started with the orange, went into the white, over to the blue. Um, yeah, quite interesting. So, like we always say when

10:42 we we do these tests and and we give you guys the recommendations of what the manufacturer says from a launch and spin perspective, and we always say, take that with a grain of salt. And, you

10:51 know, the golfer swing can always override the intended characteristics of of that club to produce a certain ball flight. And we actually saw a little bit

10:59 of that Mikey. So, you know, if we go into the ball speed, started with the orange at 10 156.5 average ball

11:07 went up a little bit with white, 157.4, went up to 159 with the blue. Yeah.

11:13 As the shaft got softer, club speed went up, ball speed went up.

11:17 Very, very interesting. Um, one of the most interesting things from the test though was the highest launch angle came with the white.

11:28 Yeah. Interesting.

11:29 Which is definitely definitely interesting. So, looking at the launch and spin, the bomber flight came with a white 137 launch, 1900 spin.

11:37 Orange was flat, right? 119 and 1900. Blue sat in kind of the perfect window.

11:44 12.4 launch, just under 2200.

11:47 Um, I really thought the spin axis was an interesting one. The straightest flight by far with the the blue.

11:55 I mean, watching you hit the blue to me, I was like, go play it. It looks so so comfortable. Average carry with them.

12:03 We're looking at longest was white because the high launch, low spin, even though speed was down 283.4. Yeah.

12:10 Blue was 280.6 and then orange was down a little bit, 272.7.

12:17 does what they say it does. I mean, orange lower launch, then you got your tensi, and then you've got this tensy blue that that gets up in the up in the air for you. The flight for you on blue was was great.

12:26 Was was the straightest by far. Very, very interesting.

12:30 I mean, I was very I was curious to try it just cuz I know blue is very similar in terms of profile to what I have played in the uh Ventus TR Red.

12:39 Y stiffer handle, a little bit of softer tip section, little bit more active. I I think that blue is going to be a really

12:46 good option for a lot of people. I'm going to test with it a little bit more in the in the driver, but I really do think there's going to be a little bit of life to this one. To

12:55 follow up with the woods, too, cuz you do have it in some threewoods.

12:57 I do. I do. I've got the same white and orange and blue kind of to try in the woods. So, haven't really extensively done that testing yet, but uh it looks

13:05 like it it, you know, could be good to to do that. Blue throughout the bag.

13:10 Could be blue in the bag. It wouldn't be the wrong thing for this boy.

13:12 Yeah, no kidding. Someone said he likes the color blue. Uh, okay guys, that is the Tensi range complete set. Obviously,

13:20 those of you who are wondering yet, there is a Tensy uh 1K black. It is a different shaft from a a material standpoint. It's not part of the Pro

13:29 series. It's just called 1K Black. More of an OEM made shaft. Obviously, at a slightly lower price point. So, which is one of the reasons, you know, you won't

13:37 see it in tests like this with us. Uh it's not a shaft we carry, but we will carry white, orange, and blue in our stores. So, uh something to make sure

13:45 you guys try out when you come by for your own test.

13:48 Definitely great stuff. Okay, stay tuned for more. We'll see you again soon.
