Custom club fitting

Fairway / Hybrid Fitting

The clubs that cover the ground between your driver and your longest iron.

A Fairway / Hybrid Fitting takes an hour. It is the session for the part of the bag most golfers assemble by accident, one club at a time, over years. Your fitter measures what you actually carry with each one and fills the distance nothing covers.

What we measure

Launch, spin, gapping

The distance between woods and irons finally covered.

The driver is not covered here. If the tee shot is the problem too, a Long Game Fitting takes in the driver as well.

Averages are averages, and these come from a study rather than a promise. Here is what golfers say about their own fittings.

✓ Perfect Fit Guarantee

The tools that make it measurable

Three systems cover the whole bag and the decisions behind it, and all of them are in every Club Champion studio.

Trackman

The radar the PGA measures on, built on the same tracking technology used for military projectiles. It reads ball speed, spin, launch and club delivery on every swing, so a shaft or head change shows up as a number instead of a feeling.

Used for woods, irons and wedges

SAM PuttLab

Ultrasound analysis that reads 28 parameters of your putting stroke in seconds. It sets your putter’s length, loft, lie and toe hang against how you actually roll the ball, not how you think you do.

AI Fitter Co-Pilot

More than 65,000 head and shaft combinations exist across the brands we carry. Our fitting software reads your session data live and narrows that field to the handful your numbers actually support, so your fitter spends the session testing rather than searching.

Each piece is sourced separately, weight-sorted and assembled to tight tolerances by a Master Builder, then checked back against your build sheet. Change one and the numbers change.

Talk through your game

Where the ground you cannot cover sits, and what you carry now.

What you walk out with

Every spec written down, and a build that matches it.

Your build sheet

The session ends with a build sheet listing the exact specs for every club it covered: head, shaft, length, lie, loft, swingweight and grip. Alongside it sits an itemized recommendation showing what each piece costs.

Nothing is bundled and nothing is withheld. The sheet is yours to keep whether you order that day or not.

No spiffs, no house brand

Your fitter is paid the same whatever you buy. There is no incentive to steer you toward one manufacturer, so the recommendation on your sheet is the one your numbers produced.

Built by Master Builders

Your order goes to a build shop, not an assembly line. Master Builders assemble each club to the specs on your sheet, and we email you as it moves.

SST PUREing

No shaft is perfectly consistent around its axis. SST PUREing finds each shaft’s most stable orientation and aligns it that way in the build.

Fairway / Hybrid Fitting questions, answered

What golfers ask most before booking the middle of the bag.

How much is a fairway wood or hybrid fitting?

A Fairway Wood / Hybrid Fitting costs $125 and takes about 1 hour. With a custom club purchase, it's $50.

What does a fairway wood and hybrid fitting cover?

The clubs between your driver and your longest iron: head, shaft, loft and length, fit so the gaps close rather than overlap, with launch, spin and turf interaction read on TrackMan.

How long does a fairway wood and hybrid fitting take?

About 1 hour. If the right answer takes longer, your fitter adjusts.

Should I fit the driver at the same time?

If the driver is also in question, the Long Game Fitting covers driver, fairway woods and hybrids together in about 2 hours for $250.

Are aftermarket golf shafts worth it?

Yes — aftermarket shafts are manufactured to tighter tolerances than stock shafts, producing more consistent performance swing to swing, which is why Club Champion uses aftermarket shafts exclusively.

Are golf club fittings worth it?

Yes — every golfer, regardless of skill level, can improve through a custom fitting. Because the process is data driven and brand agnostic, you see the real-time performance impact of each change before deciding whether to invest, so the decision is based on evidence rather than guesswork or sales bias.

Are stock and aftermarket shafts different?

Yes — they differ in profile, construction, and manufacturing tolerance. Aftermarket shafts are built to tighter tolerances for more consistent performance, which is why Club Champion uses them exclusively.

Can AI replace the expertise of a club fitter?

No — the AI Co-Pilot supports the Master Fitter’s analysis, but the Engineer’s direct conversation with you about goals and feedback is what shapes recommendations the data alone can’t fully capture.

Can I bring my current clubs to Club Champion for my fitting?

Yes — bringing your current set lets you warm up properly and gives Club Champion an accurate baseline to fit against, and may open time to explore other parts of your game.

Can I bring someone else to my club fitting?

Yes — you’re welcome to bring a guest to watch the fitting process, and many end up booking their own fitting afterward.
